Lapzárta után (szeptember) Néhány levél és kép a terrorista támadással kapcsolatban. AAz ég és a föld elmúlnak, de az én beszédeim soha el nem múlnak.@ (Mt 24:35)
Köszönjük imádságaitokat. Tegyétek továbbra is. Sőt, imádkozzunk együtt a sok szenvedőért, a sok gyászolóért. S imádkozzunk azért, hogy sokan végiggondolják, milyen fundamentumon áll is az életük. Herjeczki G. Köszönjük leveleiteket ! (szeptember 11-i levelek)
****************** ***************** ***************** Levelek tőlünk, rólunk: Kedves Testvéreink ****************** It was an awesome sight. Just a month ago we were taking friends of ours there from New Hampshire. The city looked so peaceful, so serene from the 110th floor. People were like tiny ants below. And now, just imagine the emergency folks as they tried to rescue those still inside and fight the fire at the same time. As the buildings were going down, they say that it could have had 10 to 15 thousand people trapped there. One of our tenant, in the building we live, had an office there. His wife desperately tried to call him all day. There are people all over the city, who are being touch by a lost loved one. Folks, we are living in a very troubled time. Every sign points to the imminent return of the Lord. Our hope and prayer is that He may find us working. Thanks again for some of you who were able to contact us via email and phone. Please keep in prayer those who's loved ones were lost in this unprecedented terrorist attack. God bless you all! Love in Christ, Lenke and Barnabas
PRAYING FOR "SENSELESS" TRAGEDIES When we hear about another random act of violence, our first response is usually to pray away the pain or pray that this will never happen again. But how can we pray beyond the fear and shock, beyond the most obvious needs, for the issues of the kingdom? Below are prayer points that were originally written by Pray! staff the morning after the September 15, 1999 church shooting at Wedgwood Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. Once again, as a nation, from a human perspective we are unable to make sense of the horrific situation we are in. We hope that they will act as a springboard for your own prayer in the wake of tragedies that defy human understanding and are becoming more frequent. following link: (szeptember 12-i levelek) Kedves Kulcsár testvér, kedves amerikai magyar baptista testvérek! Urunk oltalmazó szeretetét kérve rátok és mindannyiunkra, testvéri öleléssel, Antal Ferenc ************** ************** ************** ************** "We deplore with profound sorrow and shock the tragic and senseless terrorist attacks in New York and Washington. On behalf of the Baptist World Alliance we send our condolences to the families of victims of this evil crime. It is time for religious leaders to condemn all violence and all terrorist activities. As Baptists we are called upon to be peacemakers. All forms of religious, political and social fanaticism must be condemned in the name of God! We write these words from Jakarta, Indonesia, where we are meeting with Baptist, as well as government and religious leaders, to discuss the need to defend and maintain religious freedom for all, and to end sectarian strife and violence that has resulted in the tragic loss of life and destruction of churches and mosques. Just yesterday we met with the moderate Muslim political party leaders. All of us agreed, Muslims and Christians, that we must work for peace and harmony within our nations and never turn to violence or the sword. As Baptists, who have long suffered as a religious minority from religious persecution, we call upon our people to pray and work for peace. We must never raise the sword. Our Lord commanded Peter and all of us to put back our swords and to take up our cross. Indeed, we must never preach our own national culture, but we must preach Christ and His cross: "For if I am lifted up I will draw all humanity to myself." This week has shown us that it is necessary on a world level to have conversations with men and women of all religious traditions and to discuss those great values we hold in common so as to prevent further bloodshed, loss of life, and another conflagration that breaks the heart of God. Our hope as Christians is in Jesus Christ, our crucified and risen Lord, who is coming again to gather his people into a new kingdom. During this time of waiting for the return of Christ, we call upon Baptists and men and women of good will everywhere to strive for those things that make for peace, reconciliation and justice. Let us become a praying people and a working people for the peace of Christ, which the world does not understand, but for which and to which we are called!" Denton Lotz, General Secretary **************** "What a tragic event has occurred to humanity! As Baptists around the world, our hearts go out to the victims of this malicious attack. We will certainly pray that God may grant the needed wisdom for the difficult decisions, which need to be made. What an encouragement to receive news that the Hungarian Baptist Aid is willing to send their Special Search and Rescue Teams to assist in the aftermath of this unprecedented tragedy. May we always be ready and willing to assist wherever and whenever needed to alleviate a suffering world. We will continue to uphold the victims and their families in prayer. We ask God's special blessing, peace and comfort for each one. 'And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus' Philippians 4:7." Billy J. H. Kim, President of the Baptist World Alliance *************** Take the time and respect to read this on behalf of the tragedy that struck our country on Sept.11, 2001. Erika WE NEED GOD IN AMERICA AGAIN!!!! George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Samuel Adams, First Chief Justice John Jay, names synonymous with the spirit of our country. Founding Fathers of the U.S.A. Over 200 years ago they shook off the chains of tyranny from Great Britain by divine call. Citing 27 biblical violations they wrote the Declaration of Independence, "...With liberty and justice for all..." But something happened since Jefferson called the Bible the cornerstone for American liberty and then put it in our schools as a light. Or since Patrick Henry said, 'Give me liberty or give me death." Our country was founded on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We eliminated God from the equation of American life, thus eliminating the reason this nation first began. From beyond the grave I hear the voice of our Founding Fathers plead, "You need God in America again." Of the 55 men who formed the Constitution, 52 were active members of their church. Founding Fathers like Noah Webster who wrote the first dictionary could literally quote the Bible chapter and verse. James Madison once said, 'We've staked our future on our ability to follow the Ten Commandments with all our heart." These men believed you couldn't even call yourself an American if you subvert the Word of God. In his farewell address, Washington said, "You can't have national morality apart from religious principle," and it's true because right now we have nearly 150,000 kids carrying guns to these war zones we call public schools. In the '40s and '50s student problems were chewing gum and talking. In the '90s, rape and murder are the trend. The only way this nation can even hope to list this decade is to put God in America again. Abe Lincoln said, 'The philosophy of the schoolroom in one generation will be the philosophy of government of the next." So when you eliminate the Word of God from the classroom and politics you eliminate the nation that Word protects. America is now number one in teen pregnancy and violent crime, number one in illiteracy. drug use and divorce. Every day a new holocaust of 5,000 unborn die while pornography floods our streets like open sewers. America's dead and dying hand is on the threshold of the church while the spirit of Sodom and Gomorrah vex us all. When it gets to the point that people would rather come out of the closet than clean it, it's the sign that the judgment of God is going to fall. If there's ever been a time for the church to rise up it's now. As the blood bought saints of the living God proclaim that it's time to sound the alarm from the Church house to the White House and say, "We want God in America again." I believe it's time for America to stand up and proclaim that one nation under God is our demand and send this evil lifestyle back to Satan where it came from and let the Word of God revive our dying land. History tells us time and time again to live like there's no God makes you a fool. If you want to see kids live right stop handing out condoms and start handing out the word of God in schools. WE NEED GOD IN AMERICA AGAIN! BY: CARMAN
